Kobo blues
Since Kobo refuses to remove my book The Wizard Takes a Fitness Class from their bookstore despite more than a month’s notice and repeated emails, I will not be running a free promo on that short story any time soon on Amazon. Sorry, folks!
Just because it belongs to me and I hold all rights to it, apparently that doesn’t stop other websites from taking it and doing whatever they’d like with it!
Guess I will put it back up on Apple via Smashwords. I’m not going to meet my window to have it removed so I can free promo it on Halloween, so… *shrug*.
Another strike against Kobo. I REALLY wanted to like their Writing Life program, but on the whole, I am NOT pleased with Kobo at all.
IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT for my Nook, iBooks, Sony, and Kobo readers (as well as Smashwords):
Peeps, Amazon has surprised me this morning by rolling out a new author program that *could* lead to more people reading my books…so for a limited time (90 days), I am going exclusive with Amazon with This Brilliant Darkness.
If you use a Nook, iBooks, a Kobo, or a Sony reader, or you are a Smashwords diehard, and you’ve been considering downloading This Brilliant Darkness, you’ll want to do that today, before the book comes down from those sites. It will not be available again there until March of 2012 at the earliest.
Also, if you are on Amazon, grab TBD before it goes back up to $1.99 later today. I may be raising the price to $2.99 before Christmas, as well. Lots of experimenting going on.
Of course, if you are an Amazon Prime member, you can borrow This Brilliant Darkness for free!

Dang, I need this case like yesterday. How much does it cost? Do I want to know? I’m kind of afraid to look. I just got this one for my Fire, but egad, this is terrific.
